The Scorpion M2205 2350kv is the M2204 big brother and in my opinion better for 250mm – 280mm racers. For that reason I only tested it with 6” propeller on 3S and 4S battery. The testing ESC was Afro Race 20A with SimonK 2015-09. Here are some of the specifications:
Dimensions: Φ27.9×21.35mm
Stator Diameter: 22mm
Magnet Poles: 14
KV: 2300
Weight: 31.7g
The production quality is good, but not perfect. Somehow I find the little M2204 way better in terms of quality. Scorpion Power System sent me just one piece, so I can’t made a comparison. However the motor is well balanced and there is no vertical play in the bell. As well as the M2204 the M2205 has an integrated 5mm threaded motor shaft.
Update 2016: I got 4 brand new pieces of the M2205 2350kv and they look way different from the one, that I got back in December. In every box there are two motors and the needed mounting screws. Everything is well packed and protected. Manufacturing quality is great.
The mounting holes are standard: M3 19x16mm. Motor wires haven’t any bullet connectors and you can solder them directly to the ESC.
After a one minute test on 60% throttle, the motor temperature was a bit high – 65° C. But the almost 1200g thrust is great. As said at the beginning, this motor is more suitable for 250mm-280mm quads. Personally I prefer the T-Motor MN2206 2000kv for that size and the little Scorpion M2204 2300kv for 210mm racers at the moment.
Update: I have tested the Scorpion M2205 2350kv with the new LittleBee 20A Pro on 4S. The first table shows the result with a 5045 HQ prop and the second with KingKong 6×4:
50% Throttle
337g thrust
5.40A current
100% Throttle
829g thrust
20.55A current
50% Throttle
489g thrust
8.19A current
100% Throttle
1139g thrust
29.30A current
I like the 1139g thrust, but you should be careful with such a big prop on 4S. Do not use the M2205 with a 6045 propeller. The chance of burning the motor is big. With the HQ5045 prop the motor performs well and it is a good choice for 210mm frames, like the Lisam LS-210.
You can find the set of two Scorpion M2205 2350kv on HobbyKing. I want to say thank you to Tony from Scorpion Motors for sending me the samples for my review!

Last but not least – the thrust data:
