Packed with a groundbreaking 1-inch CMOS sensor, advanced nightscape obstacle sensing, and a versatile 225° gimbal, this mini drone delivers pro-level imaging and flight performance in a palm-sized package. Here is a detailed look at what I think makes the DJI Mini 5 Pro a must-have for every drone enthusiast and content creator.

Personally, I am very curious to test and try the the non-GNSS RTH feature. Nowadays such advanced features are more common for drones used in challenging environments, where is GNSS is denied. It would be particularly impressive, using real-time vision positioning to memorize flight paths in areas with adequate lighting, enabling safe returns even without satellite signals on such a small drone.
The drone also supports L1 + L5 dual-band GNSS for improved signal stability and precise positioning.
The upgraded ActiveTrack 360° enhances tracking performance, offering customizable modes for various scenarios, from beach walks to bike rides. It balances speed, agility, and safety, ensuring smooth and reliable subject tracking. It sounds great on paper, but I would be interested to see and test it on my own in real-life conditions. Over the years, the ActiveTrack feature has improved a lot, so I will not be surprised if it works as promoted by DJI.

Interestingly enough, the new Mini 5 Pro is woking together with the old remote controller. I am curious if it is going to be compatible with the DJI RC Pro 2 (the one from Mavic 4 Pro), which already works with the Mini 4 Pro. If not at launch, probably in few weeks/months after a firmware upgrade.
Especially for absolute new drone pilots, I would highly recommend get the DJI Care Refresh as well. It offers up to two replacements in one year or four in two years for accidental damage, including flyaways, collisions, and water damage.
