SG Adventure Mini

Back in May 2014 I created my carbon fiber frame: SG Adventure. I needed a smaller version for FPV flying and easy transportation. So I created the SG Adventure Mini V-Type quadcopter frame. I wanted something different, not the standard X or H-Type frame. Its better for mounting an action camera and for orientation too.

Overview:

  • V-Type asymmetric 260mm frame
  • Weight: only 83 grams
  • Material: High quality carbon fiber from SGL Carbon (Made in Germany)

Features:

  • Designed to mount a GoPro or a Mobius camera on the front.
  • Maximum propeller size: 6”.
  • Flight controller mounting holes: Naze32, CC3D, Pixhawk, APM2.5 KK2.1.5., Crius, AutoQuad, MultiWii Pro and DJI Naza.
  • Motor mounting holes: M3 19mm x 16mm; M2 16mm x 12mm and M2 12mm x 12mm.
  • Cover plate for mounting GPS and FPV gear (additional weight of 8g).

Photos and details:

The arms and the small parts are made from 3mm carbon fiber, the central plates from 1mm carbon fiber.

Mounted all four T-Motor MN2206 2000kv brushless motors to the arms without cutting the cables.

I used some nylon spacers for mounting the flight controller. It is not necessary, but I will have more space for the ESCs or receiver cables.

On the down side are the holes for the battery strap. Between the two center plates, a standard 30.5 x 30.5mm power distribution board could be mounted.

For assembling the carbon frame I have used eight M3 x 16mm screws and sixteen M3 x 6mm for mounting the motors. Fully assembled without the battery the Mini quadcopter weights only 393 grams.

Any feedback would be appreciated, so leave me a comment Smile
