LDPower FR2204-2300kv Race Motor – Part I
Few days ago I received the new upcoming FR2204 2300kv “For Racing” motors from LD-Power Technology for a review. In the first part I am going to post some details about the motor, my impressions as well as pictures of them. In Part II you will find the thrust data with different combination of batteries, ESCs (incl. the new KISS24A Race Edition) and propellers. And last but not least in Part III, I will mount the FR2204 2300kv on my SG Acro & FPV frame and will make a flight video.
Stator Diameter: 22mm
Magnet Poles: 14
I got a kit of 4 x FR2204 2300kv motors (2 CW and 2 CCW), well packaged in a black paper box.
The four motors are good protected by the foam. On the right you can see the small box with the bullet nut, 8 x M3 screws , shrink tube and 2mm gold connectors. Its nice to have these in the package.
If you are not going to use the gold connectors, then you can directly solder the cables to your ESC. The 20AWG motor cables are 73mm long.
The quality of the motor is very good. No scratches, just perfect CNC work. The design should help for better cooling of the motor and personally I like the blue color. The motor has an integrated 5mm threaded motor shaft for easy mounting of propeller with 5mm hole.
The motor has standard M3 19x16mm mounting holes, so no problems mounting it on almost every frame.
At first look I am impressed by the manufacturing quality and the extra included screws and connectors. If you are curious how it will perform on the thrust stand, subscribe or like the Facebook page to be notified about the Part II of my review.
Update: Part II of the review is ready and online.
